Volume 6 - May 28, 2019
THE ST. ALBANS SHARK ATTACK
The 2019 season is off to a vibrant start! We had nearly perfect weather for the opening weekend and it was great to see so many people enjoying St. Albans.
The first ever early opening Splash on Friday evening was a huge success! Nearly 200 people came out to enjoy a beautiful sunny evening to celebrate the start of summer. Over 100 kids lined the pools and jumped in after the countdown at 6:00 pm. The tennis courts were jumping with the Kids Day and the Opening Day Round Robin. The Scavenger Hunt, free popsicles on Saturday, and free Ice Cream Sundaes on Sunday were extremely popular with our young (and older) members. It's going to be an amazing summer!
A hearty THANK YOU to all the volunteers that helped get our club up and running for the season. Click here to see photos from our Volunteer Days.
On May 4 we had a great Derby de Mayo Social. We will all remember that Kentucky Derby race! See the fun on our facebook page and mark your calendar for the next tennis social on June 8. Register soon! All members are welcome regardless of tennis ability and you can just come for the party! We will kick off the summer with a Summer BBQ and Country Hoedown.
Our Social Committee has planned many new and favorite activities throughout the season. One of the biggest events will be St. Albans' 60th Birthday Party. Come out and celebrate the treasure that is St. Albans and its vibrant membership on June 22. Activities for the entire family are planned all day and into the evening.
The tennis center has been bustling with activity with Junior JTT matches and practices, Ladies Cup and USTA leagues and Men's Interclub matches. Don't be shy - come on up and join the fun! Beginners are encouraged and welcome to participate in many activities including beginner clinics, round robins and socials!
Swim season is starting this week. Visit the Swim/Dive Team page to learn more about signups.
The new St. Albans Bookclub is starting on May 29th. Join us to discuss the books, meet fellow members, enjoy a summer evening and share appetizers and drinks!
We welcome our new members who joined St. Albans recently.
